DWP is responsible for welfare, pensions and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers.
The Challenge
DWP’s current solution for the extraction of financial data from bank statements was expensive and inefficient. Used by 35 users due to licencing constraints, the software required a high degree of manual effort to extract and process the data.
DWP asked Demarq to provide an alternative solution to replace the incumbent software allowing an increase in users and driving greater efficiencies in their investigations.
The Solution
DWP opted for a bespoke version of Oscar to be developed to enable a quick transition from their current software. The solution was built and delivered as an on-premise deployment to ensure we were able to remove as many hurdles to quick and seamless implementation as possible and to minimise any impact on their ongoing investigations.
The Outcome
Used by over 450 investigators, the bespoke version of Oscar is delivering increased value to DWP has greatly reduced costs and improved efficiencies and accuracy.
We continue to work with the department to support the current platform and moved the users to increased levels of automation and optimisation.
